Jacqui and Andre - Engagement Session.

This past weekend I was able to spend some time with my dear friend Jacqui and her new fiance, Andre. I loved being able to take their engagement photos and spend some time with them while visiting Colorado Springs. I was so honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding for them next summer. They are such a wonderful couple and I cannot wait to be able to celebrate with them as they become husband and wife!

Pajama Sessions!

Pajama sessions are coming!!
Imagine relaxing in your home with your family, in your comfy clothes maybe even in your favorite pajamas; imagine doing what your family loves to do together... cooking a meal, playing a board game, building a lego house. Picture all of the laughs, hugs, kisses and cuddles that take place on any given day in your home.
How wonderful would it be to have those moments captured and perfectly preserved?
That's what pajama sessions are for! There is no pressure to have everyone wear the right clothes, no posing for a photo, no forced smiles, no stress. This is the perfect photo shoot for families with young children or anyone that prefers candid shots. Below I have added photos from such a session.

This shoot was done a while back but to this day it is one of my favorite shoots I've ever done. Let me introduce you to Melissa and her sweet kiddos Michael and Marley. Earlier this year after a big scare Marley was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. In honor of beautiful Marley I will be making a donation to the Children's Diabetes Foundation with every pajama session booked. This photo shoot was so full of laughter and fun that I went home with my face hurting from smiling so much!

Sunset Cliffs - San Diego, California

This week for our photo-date it was my turn to choose our location. Since we had stayed inland for the last 3 weeks I decided it was time to head to the coast. So, we went to a spot that I have been wanting to visit since we moved to San Diego 6 months ago; Sunset Cliffs. My first thought when we pulled up was "Why did I wait so long to come here?" And while I can't answer that question I can say without a doubt that it won't take me 6 months to come back. In fact since this is a mere 12 miles from my house I can see my family and I coming back frequently.
The one struggle that I had this week when photographing this location was trying to find unique perspectives and interesting compositions. This is clearly a beautiful spot but I wanted to make sure that my photos didn't feel like too much of the same... cliff, cliff, cliff, sun, sun, sun, water, water, water. I hope I accomplished this. And I hope these make you want to visit... if you are ever in San Diego you should definitely make this one of your stops!

Big thanks to my new random fisherman friend for giving me permission to take his photo! :-)
