Valentines Day Mini Sessions {Villa Norte Park, San Diego}

I often get asked what a mini session looks like and how it's different from a full session.
A mini session moves fast - typically 20 minutes verses a full session that lasts an hour. Mini session images are almost exclusively made up of posed shots where as a full session includes many candid images and more variety. In every photo session I try to get photos of the whole group (family, siblings, etc.) as well as individual photos. Mini sessions go quickly which is often a good thing when you have young children with short attention spans. Are you worried about getting good photos of your children? Don't be, even in a short session you can definitely capture some beautiful images.

This is a mini session I captured of my own kiddos with my Valentines Day set up - I hope it helps to give you an idea of what to expect from your own mini session!

Happy Birthday, Kaia Rae {Coronado Island, CA}

Dear Kaia,
From the very beginning everything has been in your own timing. You waited almost 42 weeks to begin your trek into the world. And even then you took your sweet time - 35 hours - to finally arrive. You were and are one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life.
You are sassy, opinionated and stubborn. It is this part of your personality that drives me the most crazy.
It is this part of your personality that is the single thing I love most about you.
You have the most infectious laugh I have ever heard and the most heart-stoppingly beautiful smile.
You are affectionate, loving and brave. Intelligent, observant and imaginative.
Happy 3rd Birthday my precious girl. You have added immeasurable joy to my life and it is my great honor to be your Mommy. I love you.
Love, Mom

The Ayala Family {Imperial Beach, San Diego, CA}

This was my second photo shoot at Imperial Beach and man do I love it there. It's one of the further beaches from my house but so worth the drive. When you combine an awesome pier, a breathtaking sunset and a beautiful family you can't go wrong!
