The R Family {A perfect spring day at Harbor Island, San Diego}

This sweet family was so much fun to photograph. These boys are little charmers who picked and delivered flowers to their mom and I at every opportunity during the shoot and some of the poses they used had me laughing out loud while editing. And their little girl, oh my goodness. I can hardly handle how adorable she is. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon! Thanks, R family!

The F Family. {A time to celebrate.}

Possibly my favorite part of photography is being able to capture the important moments in peoples lives. I've photographed weddings, pregnancy announcements, new additions and first birthdays. But, to date this was my very first adoption. Maybe it's my pregnancy hormones, or maybe I'm just a big softy but I was so incredibly honored to be asked to capture such a special moment for this family. I couldn't get them out of my head after I got home from the shoot and I was so anxious to work on the photos to get them back to the family as quickly as possible. Thank you, F family for including me in your day. I'm so thrilled for you all!

Afterwards we all headed to a park to take a few photos.
As you will see these boys were FULL of energy!

Another first for my girl.

It was a big weekend in our house. My baby girl Kaia got her first haircut. And it left me a bit traumatized. My husband and I talked about it for a long time and decided it was time for a little trim to even out the ends of Kaia's hair. While I was looking at toddler hair cuts my girl came over and picked out one that she wanted. It was a very cute, chin length cut and I decided that I could handle that. Unfortunately, even with a photo the hairdresser completely misinterpreted what I asked for and my girl ended up losing about 5-6 inches of length. It took me days to stop crying over it (thanks, pregnancy hormones!) and even longer before I could bring myself to take her after photos.So without further adieu here is my girl before, during and after her big (too big!!) haircut.
