Big Sister, Baby Brother.

I think every parent worries that their child won't react well to having a new baby around. 

Luckily, Maddie's parents had nothing to worry about!

I went back to the hospital the morning after Declan was born and was able to spend some time capturing Declan's first time meeting his big sister, Maddie. It was such a joy to watch their interactions. Maddie fell immediately in love with her new little brother and was so sweet and gentle with him. Here's the thing about birth... no matter how much you plan or prepare it never goes quite like you expected. That's part of it's magic. Declan's birth was no different. I love the story these photos tell. The anticipation and laughter at the beginning of the day, the concern and frustration as the day wore on and the absolute pure joy when this sweet boy arrived.
